Why Sell Human Grade Doggie Cuisine's food for dogs
The Dog Food Reseller Market Is Evolving and Growing.
"More and more veterinarians and breeders are recommending human grade food for dogs to replace traditional nutritionally lacking commercial dry dog food, but there are not a lot of resellers offering this nutritious product."
Unlike cats, dogs are not strictly carnivores and require additional nutrients like humans, which they may not be getting in the proper proportions with dry dog food. This is because commercial dry dog food is baked at extreme high heat and in the process destroys the natural necessary enzymes, vitamins and antioxidants. In fact, replacements are literally sprayed back onto the food at the end of the process to compensate for this process.
Another alternative being touted is Raw Meat but consider this unhealthy choice.
The Canadian Veterinary Medical Association's web site does not recommend raw meat and states:
"Problems can and do occur if raw foods are fed. For example, meats should not be fed raw because of the danger of transmitting parasites (e.g. toxoplasmosis) and harmful bacteria (e.g. Salmonella, E.coli, Enterobacter, Pseudomonas, etc.)."
In addition, studies show that most dogs and cats prefer cooked meat."
Raw meat does not provide all the additional vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates dogs need and supplements or additives are usually required. Some veterinarians have stated they are finding kidney and other health related problems with dogs strictly fed raw food.
Should the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association's statement turn out to be correct and this "trendy" raw food has serious ramifications and becomes a serious concern to dogs, who would you blame if your dog developed these problems? The manufacturer or the outlet where you bought it and who recommended this type of diet in the first place? Simply adding and mixing raw vegetables or grains, etc. into the raw meat mixture does not provide the answer. In a majority of cases, these type of raw ingredeints can not be digested properly due to the shorter digestive systems of dogs. These ingredients need to be cooked in order for the dog to digest them and gain the nutrients.
Handling raw meat can be very dangerous to the person preparing the dog's meal and to other household members. There is also a very good chance of exposing children or older people to Salmonella or E Coli because these bacteria are being found in the dog's feces (found to be happening in 70% of raw dog food eaters), and you cannot rule out parasites in raw meat!
"Sure dogs in the past ate raw meat in the wild, but so did humans until cooking was discovered
People would not eat any of the above dog foods that are commercially available, why should their dogs?
So what's the solution?
There are a lot of concerned people who are cooking their own dog food rather than have their dogs eat commercial dog food. However, that's not to say table scraps are the answer. Feeding your dog table scrapes or the stuff you cut off (fats, etc.) your food because you don't think they are healthy parts, and won't eat them, can cause health problems or weight gain for your dog just as it would for you.
There is nothing wrong with providing your pet with a homemade diet, but you must be sure that the diet that you prepare contains the proper amount and balance of all nutrients and that one does not counteract with another, that the ingredients are easily digested, absorbed, and utilized by the pet, and that it is palatable.
Many people would prefer this type of food for their dogs, but unfortunately do not have the time or inclination to make it themselves. That's where Human Grade Doggie Cuisine comes in.
